King of Mountains - As the name suggests there is lot of climbing to do. Firstly the rolling terrain from Navi mumbai via Badlapur and Murbad takes you to the bottom of Malshej Ghat which is considered as one of the most picturesque landscape but equally difficult to climb. Climbing Malshej ghat on cycling is challenging but very satisfying to a genuine cyclist. After reaching control around 115 km, route moves back to Murbad and from Murbad to karjat to Mumbai-Pune highway (chouk). On this route you will have to climb bhor ghat and reach control point around 251 kms. Take a U-turn and move towards Nerul. Finish point is outside DY Patil College main entrance. This route has two big climbs and lot of rolling terrain. Majority of the route is on state highways which makes this route more beautiful but even more challenging.
